🤑 The State of PPC - Chapter #1
Hey ,
The most common question I get, is: “Tomer, how are you so amazing?”
Then, after I wake up, one of the most common questions is: “Tomer, how should I manage my PPC?”
In my book, Ride The Amazon Wave, the chapter on PPC was planned to be the longest - Sharing how I structure my campaigns and optimize them based on different KPIs, goals, etc.
When the book was almost done, PPC had already changed drastically after the initial write-up. I’ve realized I cannot write a chapter on PPC in my book because there’s one constant thing on Amazon - They somehow keep finding more placements for ads and new types of ads.
Here’s the truth about PPC, on a macro level:
PPC is your 2nd biggest expense in your Amazon business, after inventory.
PPC bids are at an all-time high.
Most sellers are not sure how they should manage PPC - Use an agency, software, freelancer, an in-house employee, or some combination of the above.
When asking 10 experts how I should manage my PPC, I’m getting 10 very different answers.
With that, I’ve decided to do a PPC mini-interview series - Interviewing thought leaders in the PPC space that I trust. Not sellers, but those who own agencies or software, and they’ve seen what’s been working at scale.
I will also say, that there are different ways to succeed with PPC. There’s not just one way, and whatever works for you might not work for someone else. At the end of the series, I’ll give my own summary on the topic and share what I believe are the common truths everyone agrees on, along with what are the disagreements.
The first interview of the series was done with Incrementum Digital, a leading PPC agency. In the interview I’ve had:
Liran Hirshkorn, CEO of Incrementum Digital.
Mansour Norouzi, Director of Amazon Advertising in Incrementum Digital.
Here’s the link to the interview (you have both audio and video versions on the page, no opt-in is required).
A few of the things we’ve covered during the interview:
Can PPC still be profitable?
What to do when PPC sales percentages are higher than organic sales percentages?
When should you consider DSP?
What KPIs are important to keep accountable for whoever runs your PPC?
Recently, Mansour launched a PPC course covering everything there is to know about Amazon PPC. I believe this is the most extensive course on the topic, covering everything from beginner to expert on the topic over 13 modules.
Before buying the course, watch the 57-minute video on the page to understand more about it.
To sum up:
Watch out for my future emails with the topic “The State of PPC”.
Tomer
P.S
I’m doing a few more episodes around the topic of PPC. If there’s anyone you think I should interview or anything specific you want me to ask, please reply to this email. If there’s nothing you want to ask about PPC, you can still reply to this email and tell me what you’ve had today for breakfast.
