Today, I want to talk about what makes an entrepreneur more successful, at least in my eyes.

This took me years to put into words, but stay with me here.

I’ve noticed that we entrepreneurs are a rare breed - We enjoy certain things many people don’t, follow people most don’t follow, and do things most people don’t do. There’s actually a reason for that.

I also believe that you are NOT the average of the 5 people you hang out with, but you ARE the average of what you choose to consume.

Make sure you spend more time on the things on the left than the things on the right:

Workout > Watch sports

LinkedIn > TikTok

Books > Netflix

Well, maybe many of you do most of the things above but are still not moving forward in your business. That’s because consuming is one thing, and taking action is another.

What you need to focus on, is to take action more than consuming it. In other words, you should focus more on creating than consuming.

Create > Consume

Once you start creating, you make the world a better place. Once we create something that wasn’t there before, we are adding value to the world. This can be with better physical products, hiring people and providing jobs, helping other sellers succeed and change their lives, etc.

Now, you’re on your way to becoming a success. What is success? Having millions of dollars in the bank? What’s the difference between having $10M in the bank to $100M in the bank? Are you then more successful?

Well, I believe that you become more successful when you give. Giving is not just in the form of money, it’s also in the form of your time and resources.

Look at people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Jeff Bezos - All have donated millions of their fortune to different organizations and causes. Why would they do that? Because by giving, you become more fulfilled. The more fulfilled you are, the happier you are. This is the same reason people to volunteer work, they get fulfillment and happiness by giving.

With that, the bottom line is:

Give > Receive

We are getting so much from this world and as entrepreneurs, I believe we should focus on leaving the world a bit better than we received it.

The more time and resources I’ve given Amazon sellers over the years, the more money, success, and fulfillment came my way. This is why I’m giving so much content for free, why I wrote a book, and why I’m writing you these types of emails.
